Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, saute/fry the onions and garlic in the extra virgin olive oil till soft but not brown. Stir in the cumin, ginger, salt and pepper. Add in the vinegar, orange juice, bay leaves, catsup, molasses, Tabasco, brown sugar, hoisin sauce and butter. Bring to a simmer, cover and cook for 1 hour, or possibly till thick. Remove bay leaves and keep sauce hot. Place the oysters in their shells on a warm grill. As soon as they pop open, spoon the hot barbecue sauce over them, and serve immediately. Some will open rather quickly, in a couple of min. Throw away those which don't open.
