Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour, sifted
  • 3/4 c. hazelnuts (walnut meats may be substituted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla Confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. Cream the butter and add in the sugar. Blend thoroughly. Sift the flour again and add in the nutmeats.
  2. Combine the butter and flour mixtures. Add in vanilla.
  3. Refrigerateseveral hrs or possibly overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Healthy pinch off a small piece of dough at a time and shape into a crescent or possibly "horn". Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for about 10 min. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar while still hot. Store in an air tight container.
  4. Yield: 3 dozen. These cookiesimprove with age and make good gifts. They also ship well.

    Also known by many as KIFLI or CRESENT SHAPED COOKIES. These are great, they melt in your mouth I love to bake at Christmas or special occasions Because there is no Egg in the recipe, you get a very CRUMBLY dough, but persevere.
