  • 18 lrg Macintosh apples, peeled, Sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 6 Tbsp. Butter
  • 3 c. Sugar
  • 3 3/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp Ginger
  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 ct apples
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 x Unbaked 9 inch pie shell

Directions

  1. Heat butter in heavy pot and add in apples and all other ingredients.
  2. Partially cook fruit over very low heat for 15 min, stirring now and then with wooden spoon. Coool and dvide filling into 3 freezer containers.
  3. Freeze till needed. To make one pie: Remove filling from one container and defrost. Spoon pie filling into pie shell. Sprinkle with flour and dot with butter. Cover with remaining pie dough and crimp edges togehter. Slash top in several places to allow steam to escape, Bake in a 450 oven for 15 min. Lower heat and bake 30 min longer or possibly till crust is nicely browned.
