.%20%20I%20think%20I%E2%80%99m%20just%20still%20trying%20to%20get%20used%20to%20the%20Mississippi%20heat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%20I%20am%20getting%20used%20to,%20though,%20is%20the%20early%20berries%20season%20here%20in%20the%20South.%20%20I%20took%20the%20liberty%20to%20create%20the%20most%20delectable%20vessel%20for%20these%20berries%20in%20the%20shape%20of%20a%20waffle.%20%20Angel%20food%20cake%20is%20one%20of%20my%20favorite%20summer%20desserts,%20because%20it%E2%80%99s%20so%20light%20and%20fluffy.%20%20And,%20in%20waffle%20form,%20it%20can%20now%20be%20one%20of%20my%20favorite%20breakfasts!%20%20Although,%20truth%20be%20told,%20I%E2%80%99ve%20been%20eating%20Angel%20Food%20Cake%20for%20breakfast%20another%20way%20I%E2%80%99ll%20share%20with%20you%20soon%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20whipped%20up%20my%20recipe%20for%20Angel%20Food%20Cake%20and%20poured%20the%20batter%20into%20my%20waffle%20iron.%20%20It%20took%20a%20few%20attempts%20to%20get%20it%20perfect,%20but%20after%20finding%20the%20right%20heat%20setting%20and%20remembering%20to%20let%20the%20iron%20heat%20back%20up%20between%20batches,%20I%20got%20the%20lightest%20and%20sweetest%20waffles%E2%80%A6you%20know,%20for%20my%20berries%E2%80%A6and%20my%20whipped%20cream.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20isn%E2%80%99t%20an%20extremely%20quick%20weekday%20breakfast,%20but%20I%20highly%20recommend%20it%20for%20a%20lazy%20weekend%20morning.%20%20If%20you%20want%20a%20crispier%20sugary%20crust,%20just%20let%20the%20waffles%20%E2%80%9Cbake%E2%80%9D%20a%20little%20longer%20to%20where%20they%20are%20almost%20burning.%20%20In%20fact,%20I%20recommend%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAngel%20Food%20Cake%20Waffles%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon't%20want%20to%20wait%20for%20your%20Angel%20Food%20Cake%20to%20cool%20over%20night?%20Then%20try%20this%20favorite%20summery%20dessert%20for%20breakfast%20instead!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20waffle%20iron%20to%20a%20high%20setting%20(I%20use%20between%20the%205-6%20setting%20on%20mine).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20mixing%20bowl,%20beat%20the%20egg%20whites%20until%20frothy,%20about%201%20minute%20on%20medium%20speed.%20Add%20the%20cream%20of%20tartar%20and%20salt,%20then%20beat%20on%20medium%20speed%20again%20until%20fully%20incorporated.%20Beat%20in%203/4%20cup%20of%20the%20superfine%20sugar,%201%20to%202%20Tablespoons%20at%20a%20time%20then%20turn%20up%20the%20speed%20to%20medium-high%20and%20beat%20the%20egg%20whites%20until%20they%20reach%20soft%20peaks,%20being%20careful%20not%20to%20reach%20stiff%20peaks.%20Stir%20in%20the%20vanilla%20and%20almond%20(or%20lemon)%20extracts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20the%20cake%20flour%20and%20remaining%203/4%20cup%20sugar%20in%20a%20small%20bowl.%20Sift%20over%20the%20egg%20whites%20in%206%20to%208%20additions%20and%20gently%20fold%20in%20after%20each%20addition,%20careful%20not%20to%20deflate%20the%20egg%20whites.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrease%20the%20waffle%20iron%20with%20baking%20spray.%20Pour%20measured%20batter%20into%20the%20waffle%20iron%20and%20bake%20according%20to%20your%20manufacturer's%20instructions.%20Serve%20with%20fresh%20berries%20and%20whipped%20cream.2.2%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehttp://www.seededatthetable.com/2013/06/04/angel-food-cake-waffles/%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECopyright%20Seeded%20at%20the%20Table%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
