Ingredients
- 9 c. Flour
- 1 1/2 c. Yellow cornmeal
- 2 3/4 tsp Salt ( mix may be tripled for This great bread ) For 2 loaves( all of mix )
- 2 pkt Dry yeast
- 2 1/2 c. Hot water
- 3/4 c. Molasses
- 1 stk softened margarine Additional flour if needed
Directions
- Combine all ingredients for fold in a plastic bag. Add in the dry yeast to bag and shake well.Stir water and molasses in a large bowl. Add in margarine and let stand for 5 min. Sprinkle in the yeasted mix over this a little at a time mixing till a stiff dough forms. Knead 8 to 10 min adding more flour if necessary to make a pliable dough. Place dough in greased bowl, cover and let rise double in bulk in a hot place about 1 1/2 hrs. Punch down and divide into two. Roll each piece into a 9 x 14 inch rectangle and roll up from short end to create a loaf. Tuck ends under and place in greased regular loaf pans. Let rise double in bulk. Bake in a 375 oven till rich brown about 50 min or possibly tested done. Remove from pans and cold on rack.
