Alexander Walters' "French Canadian Chili" Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 x Clove garlic, chopped
  • 2 x Onions, minced
  • 2 lb Lean grnd beef
  • 2 x : red, green and yellow peppers, minced
  • 1 x Jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  • 1 ct (10 ounce) white mushrooms, minced
  • 5 x Garden tomatoes, minced
  • 5 x Plum tomatoes, minced
  • 2 can (6 ounce) tomato paste
  • 2 can (28 ounce) stewed tomatoes
  • 1 jar , (16 ounce) garden style tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Dry oregano
  • 2 Tbsp. Dry thyme
  • 1 Tbsp. Celery salt Grnd pepper
  • 4 can Red kidney beans, liquid removed

Directions

  1. First, pour some vegetable oil a large skillet. Then add in the garlic and onion, letting them saute/fry till they're translucent/soft. Then add in the grnd beef and brown it.
  2. Add in all the peppers, jalapenos included, plus the mushrooms to the post, continue cooking the vegetables till they soften a bit (2-3 min). To a large pot, add in all the canned tomato paste, the canned stewed tomatoes and the minced fresh plum and garden tomatoes.
  3. Combine browned meat/peppers mix with tomato mix in large pot. Add in the oregano, thyme, celery salt and pepper.
  4. Let entire mix simmer for 20-25 min.
  5. After it's simmered, add in the beans and simmer for another 15 to 20 min till the sauce is the consistency of a thick gravy.
  6. Alexander Walters is the handsomely sexy actor who plays Mark Kasnoff on CBS's, "As The World Turns." Originally from Toronto, Canada, Walters went to college in Montreal where, during a stint as a bartender, he was discovered by a modeling agent. His modeling career bought him to New York and the rest, as they say, is history!
