need help i need diabetic meal planning

Recently I found out my brother is diabetic I cook meals for him so I need to know how to prepare his meals so. He doesn't get to much sugar thanks

Hi Annie, I'm not an expert on Diabetes, but a lot of the meals that I post to the Eat to Live group on CookEatShare are high in whole grains and vegetables and low in processed flour and sugar. Hi Annie,
I had to weigh everything for my mom, she was a diabetic as well. I/2 cup pasta would be all she could have because starchs or carbs turn into sugar when digested. I suggest you get a scale, dietitic book to read the things he could have. I use to use alot of splenda when baking anything for her, and that was limited too.
Mom loved her sweets though. Even some fruits have too much natural sugar, so this one is a little more complex then just cooking differently, there is much more of a balance needed. Hope that helps a little. Here is a good place to learn about Type 1 or 2. http://www.diabetes.org/
