This vegetarian burger has the unusual addition of 1 tbsp of grated beets, just enough to give the burger a pleasant color. Once cooked, this burger looks and tastes like a meat burger. It is delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp finely grated raw beet
- 1/2 cup cooked oats (quick or regular rolled oats)
- 1 cup uncooked oats (quick or regular rolled oats)
- 1/2 cup walnuts (coarsely grounded)
- 1/4 cup almonds (coarsely grounded)
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp Vegix seasoning or instant vegetable broth
- 1/4 cup green pepper, finely minced
- 1/4 cup celery, finely minced
- 1/4 cup onion, finely minced
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp ground sage
- 1/4 stp mustard powder
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes (optional)
- 1 egg (beaten)
Directions
- Mix all ingredients together well. Form into patties and grill until cooked. Serve on burger buns with tomato slices and your favourite condiments. Enjoy!
