Tamale Pie Casserole Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb grnd chuck
  • 1 med onion, minced
  • 1 x 16 ounce.+ (or possibly there about) can prepared tamales, including juice, (take off
  •     wrappers) and cut up
  • 1 x 15 ounce. can whole kernel corn
  • 1 x 15 ounce. can whole pitted black olives
  • 1 x 15 ounce. can tomato sauce
  • 1 x 7 ounce. can diced green chilies
  • 1 x 16 ounce. jar salsa (your favorite brand - warm or possibly mild to your taste)
  • 3 Tbsp. Pico-Pica warm sauce (or possibly La Victoria, El Paso) NOT TABASCO
  • 3 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 ounce wide egg noodles, uncooked (1/2 of a 16 ounce. package)

Directions

  1. Method:1. Fry the hamburger with the onion until brown and cooked through in large Casserole* (which can be put into an oven).
  2. 2. Add in the remaining ingredients (including the uncooked noodles), except for 1 c. of the grated cheese.
  3. 3. Mix thoroughly.
  4. 4. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for about one hour or possibly till bubbly. Remove cover and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top; return to oven for about 10 more min till cheese is melted.
  5. Should serve 4-6.
