- Boil potatoes in their skins
- Remove skin from potatoes and grate them with Rösti grater or slice thinly. Sprinkle layers with salt.
- Melt fat in frying pan, add potatoes and fry on low heat for about half an hour, turning from time to time.
- Towards end of frying time, form a cake in middle of pan, continue frying potatoes until firm crust forms.
- Now lift cake gently from pan by shaking or lifting carefully with flat scoop and turn over onto Rösti plate.
