Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. Meringue pwdr
  • 2 lb Confectioners' sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. Vegetable shortening
  • 6 Tbsp. Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Clear flavoring (a tinted flavoring will change color of the icing)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix at slow speed till smooth. Add in a few drops of water, if needed.
  2. This recipe yields sufficient to fill and cover a two-layer 9-inch cake.
