Peppercorn Steak With Rice And Baby Carrots Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. white rice
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 pkt peppercorn sauce mix (plus 1% lowfat milk called for in preparation)
  • 1 pkt frzn baby carrots (1 lb. or possibly 500 grams)
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 1/2 lb boneless sirloin steak (675 grams) trimmed
  • 2 x green onions
  • 7 x mushrooms
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Mrs. Dash Original Seasoning

Directions

  1. 1. Combine rice and water in a microwave-safe pot or possibly casserole dish with lid. Cover and microwave at high for 20 - 25 min.
  2. 2. Prepare sauce according to package directions in a small stove-top pot. Simmer
  3. 3. Bring water and carrots to a boil in a small stove-top pot. Reduce heat and let simmer.
  4. 4. Spray a large nonstick fry pan with cooking spray. Brown one side of steak at medium-high heat.
  5. Meanwhile, chop green onions, then wash and slice mushrooms.
  6. Flip meat over to brown the other side and toss in the mushrooms and onion. Reduce heat till rice is ready.
  7. 5. Drain carrots when they are tender and fold in white sugar and seasoning. Stir.
  8. Cut the steak into serving pcs and serve with the peppercorn sauce poured on top.
  9. Yield: 4 - 6 servings
