Ingredients
- 1/2 c. olive or possibly vegetable oil
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled and sliced
- 3 tbsp. finely minced parsley
- 3 tbsp. finely minced onion
- 1 (28 ounce.) can whole tomatoes
- 1 bay leaf
- Dash of salt
- Dash of black pepper
- Fresh basil leaves (optional)
Directions
- In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add in garlic and saute/fry for 2 to 3 min. Add in parsley and onion. Slowly add in tomatoes. Stir to break up tomatoes. Add in bay leaf, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer sauce over low heat for about 15 min for flavors to blend.
- Add in some fresh finely minced basil leaves, if you like. Serve sauce with spaghetti or possibly other pasta dishes or possibly with rice.
