Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine boiling water and oats in bowl; let stand 20 min. In a large bowl cream butter. Gradually add in sugar and brown sugar and continue beating till fluffy. Stir in Large eggs, vanilla and oat mix.
  2. Stir together thoroughly the flour, soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Add in to creamed mix, stirring till well blended. Pour batter into greased and floured 9x13" baking pan. Bake for 50 to 55 min or possibly till done.
  3. Remove from oven. Combine topping ingredients and pour on cake. Broil till lightly browned and bubbly.
  4. NOTES : This cake is delicious served hot or possibly at room temperature.
