Ingredients
- 2 c. (two 6 1/2 ounce. cans) liquid removed tuna
- 1/3 c. cracker crumbs or possibly dry bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp. instant chopped onion or possibly 1/4 c. minced onion
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- Dash poultry seasoning or possibly grnd sage, if you like
- 1/3 c. lowfat milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp. oil or possibly shortening
- 1 c. (8 1/4 ounce. can) undrained crushed pineapple
- 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 1/4 teaspoon dry or possibly prepared mustard
- 2 teaspoon lemon juice or possibly vinegar
Directions
- For salmon use 2 c. (1 lb. can) liquid removed. Use as part as lowfat milk.
- In medium mixing bowl combine tuna, cracker crumbs, onion, pepper, poultry seasoning, lowfat milk and egg mix till well blended. Form into 4 to 6 patties. In warm oil in large fry pan, brown patties or possibly both sides.
- Combine remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour over patties in fry pan. cover; simmer 5 - 10 min till patties are cooked through and pineapple mix has thickened. Serve warm patties in large buns.
