  • 1 lb beef round steak
  • 1 lb pork shoulder steak or possibly loin chops
  • 1 lrg onion minced
  • 2 x garlic cloves finely minced
  • 15 ounce canned chunky tomato sauce
  • 12 ounce thick and chunky salsa
  • 2 tsp Mexican seasoning or possibly chili pwdr
  • 1 med green bell pepper minced Lowfat sour cream (optional) Cheddar cheese (optional) Eden Black soy beans liquid removed (optional)

Directions

  1. Remove excess fat from beef and pork. Cut into 3/4-inch pcs.
  2. Mix beef, pork and remaining ingredients except bell pepper, lowfat sour cream, cheese and soy beans in crockpot (3 1/2 to 6 qts)
  3. Cover and cook on low heat 8 to 10 hrs or possibly till pork is tender. Stir in bell pepper and beans. Cover and cook on low 15 to 30 min or possibly till bell pepper is tender. Serve chili topped with lowfat sour cream and cheese if you like.
