Ingredients
- 2 c. all purpose flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1 c. water
- 3/4 c. lowfat sour cream
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 x Large eggs
- 4 ounce (4 squares) unsweetened chocolate(melted, cooled)
- 3 c. powdered sugar
- 1/4 c. lowfat sour cream
- 1/4 c. butter
- 3 Tbsp. lowfat milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 ounce (3 squares) unsweetened chocolate, melted, cooled
Directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2-9 inch round cake pans; line bottoms with wax paper. Mix dry ingredients set aside. In large bowl combine remaining ingredients blend on low speed. Beat 3 min on high speed. Pour into pans and bake 30 to 40 min or possibly till toothpick comes out clean. Cold 10 min, remove from pans; cold completely.
- Frosting:In small bowl combine all ingredients at low speed. Beat on high till smooth and creamy. Put between layers and on top of cake.
