California 3 Bean Chili Recipe

  • 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 c. onion minced
  • 1 x green bell pepper coarsely minced
  • 1/2 c. dry red wine
  • 1 can whole tomatoes - (14 1/2 ounce) broken up
  • 1 can black beans - (15 ounce) liquid removed, rinsed
  • 1 can red kidney beans - (15 ounce) liquid removed, rinsed
  • 1 can white northern or possibly pinto beans - (15 ounce) liquid removed, rinsed
  • 4 tsp McCormick chili pwdr
  • 1 tsp McCormick garlic pwdr
  • 1 tsp McCormick grnd cumin
  • 1 tsp McCormick oregano
  • 1 tsp McCormick basil leaves
  • 1/2 tsp McCormick seasoned pepper
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Heat oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add in onion and green pepper, cook 5 min, stirring often.
  2. Stir in Spice Blend and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 min, stirring occasionally. Garnish with shredded cheese and minced onion, if you like.
