Ingredients

  • 1-1 1/4 lbs. grnd beef
  • 1/2 c. minced onion
  • 1/2 c. green pepper
  • 2 (8 ounce.) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoon chili pwdr
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 (8 ounce.) cans refrigerated buttermilk or possibly country style biscuits
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Directions

  1. In large frying pan, brown beef, onion and green pepper, drain. Stir in tomato sauce, chili pwdr and garlic salt. Simmer while preparing other ingredients.
  2. Separate 1 can of biscuits into 10 - then divide each biscuit again. (So you have a total of 20 from each can). Spread biscuits over the bottom of a greased 9 x 11 inch pan.
  3. Combine 1/2 c. cheese, all of lowfat sour cream and egg. Mix well.
  4. Remove the meat mix from heat. Stir in the lowfat sour cream mix. Spoon 1/2 of the mix over the biscuits. Open the 2nd can of biscuits and divide the same as the first can. Layer on top of the meat mix. Add in the remaining sauce over the 2nd layer of biscuits. Then sprinkle the remaining 1 c. of cheese over the top.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 min, till cheese is golden.
