Sweet and sour sauce

Delicate sauce as accompinament with pork, chicken or new potato salad

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 lobes of garlic, crushed and chopped
  • 2 tsp dried chillies, flaked
  • 1 tsp arrowroot/ corn starch
  • 2 tsp water

Directions

  1. Boil first 3 items in a saucepan on medium heat for 7 minutes until the sugar had dissolve and the mixture is clear
  2. Add the garlic and chillies, cook for another 10 minutes
  3. Make a paste with the corn starch and water, add, cook and stir until the sauce has the right cnsistency
  4. As the sauce cool, it will become thicker
  5. Transfer to clean bottles and allow to cool before refridgerating it
