Pork Chop Onion Rice Bake

Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops (1 to 1 1/2 inch thick)
  • 1 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 3 c. warm water

Directions

  1. Brown pork chops. Spread rice in bottom of rectangular baking dish (9 x 13). Save 1 Tbsp. of seasonings from onion soup mix and sprinkle remaining seasonings and bits of onion over rice.
  2. Pour warm water over rice. Arrange browned chops on top of rice and sprinkle chops with reserved seasonings. Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350 degrees till tender, 45 min to 1 hour, depending on thickness of chops.
  3. Remove foil and bake 10 min longer or possibly till excess liquid evaporates. Serves 6.
