Ingredients Convert Measures

  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1/4 c. unsulphured molasses
  • 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. finely minced pecans or possibly walnuts
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon dark rum or possibly 1 1/2 teaspoon rum flavoring
  • Confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. Cream butter with sugar and molasses. Sift flour and salt; stir in nuts. Combine mixtures and blend thoroughly. Blend in rum. Shape into small balls about the size of a large grape. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake in 350 degree preheated oven 15 to 18 min. Roll in confectioners' sugar while still hot, makes a glaze. Makes about 6 dozen.
