Kraft Recipe Makers: Part 1 Recipe
by Nikki Gladd

Have you heard of this new meal helper called Kraft Recipe Makers? You must check it out! This post is sponsored by Kraft, however, the opinions expressed are genuinely my own. Read on to learn more of my love for this product! Your weeknight dinners just got easier. Kraft recently introduced a new line of products to help you get dinner on the table even on your busiest nights. Not only are you feeding your family midweek, you are actually able to offer them impressive chef quality dishes without the sweat and rush.

Included in each box are two sauce packages that add layers of flavor into your recipe. Instead of going through complex steps to incorporate different seasonings and zing to your recipe, Kraft Recipe Makers does it all for you. The first package of sauce simmers with your dish, then the second package is the finisher. And, that’s it! The rest is left up to you so that you can also incorporate fresh ingredients, like produce, protein and grains.

I love that the Kraft Recipe Makers are helpers, and not the whole recipe in itself. It’s nice to still have the freedom of adding what I want to the dish, but also having the assistance to create depths of flavor.

Take this Hickory BBQ Beef slow cooker recipe, for example. Typically, I mix up some spices to create a dry rub for my roast. I then get my hands dirty and rub those spices all over the meat to ensure a layer of spice with the barbecue sauce. With the Kraft Recipe Maker for Hickory BBQ Beef, I can eliminate the mess of the rub because the simmer sauce accomplishes that initial layer of flavor for me! The only two ingredients you need besides the two sauces included in the Hickory BBQ Beef Kraft Recipe Makers box are the roast and sandwich buns. Place your roast in the slow cooker and pour the Brown Sugar & Cider Vinegar Simmer Sauce over top. Cook on low for 8-10 hours. Remove from the slow cooker, transfer to a large platter or cutting board, and shred with two forks. Meanwhile, remove the juices from the pan with a ladle and set aside. Return the shredded meat to the slow cooker and stir in the Sweet Hickory BBQ Finishing Sauce. Heat on high for 15 minutes, then voila! it’s done! Serve on the sandwich buns with your favorite side dish.

Usually, the barbecue sauce heats in the slow cooker with the meat, often lending to a burnt sauce. Not with the Recipe Makers! The barbecue sauce is the finisher in this dish and is added only in the last 15 minutes. No burnt sauce here! There are 9 different Kraft Recipe Makers products to choose from. Every box includes three recipes you can follow, however, the sauces are so versatile that you can use them in your own homemade dishes! Here’s a video from Kraft with another idea:

Stay tuned for Part 2 of my Kraft Recipe Makers adventure next month, where I will share how I used one of the boxes to cut down on the prep time in my own favorite recipe. (Pssst…there just might be a giveaway in the next post, too. Just sayin’!)
