Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. minced fresh basil
  • 2 tsp minced fresh thyme
  • 2 tsp dry tarragon
  • 2 lrg garlic cloves finely minced
  • 1/3 c. mayonnaise
  • 4 x tuna steaks abt 1"-thk - (7 ounce ea)

Directions

  1. Whisk together first 6 ingredients in shallow dish for marinade. Place mayonnaise in separate small bowl. Whisk in 1 1/2 Tbsp. marinade. Set aioli aside.
  2. Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper. Place fish in marinade in dish, turning to coat proportionately. Marinate 1 hour at room temperature, turning fish occasionally.
  3. Oil grill rack. Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat). Grill fish to desired doneness, about 3 min per side for medium. Top fish with aioli and serve.
  4. This recipe yields 4 servings.
  5. Serve with: Steamed new potatoes and mixed green salad with a citrus vinaigrette.
  6. Dessert: A lemon tart from the bakery.
