Chocolate Cake

This is a sinful chocolate cake recipe that my aunt taught me. She always bakes this for us making us wanting more.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 200g butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • Option: 1-3tbsp milk
  • 1 cup cocoa powder (diluted with some hot water & 1tbsp sugar)
  • Chocolate sauce - Double Boil
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 tin of condensed milk (I used about 400g)

Directions

  1. Sift the flour with the baking powder.
  2. Whisk the rest of the ingredients except the chocolate sauce. If you find the mixture a little dry, add in the milk for a good consistency.
  3. Bake the cake at 160 degrees (or follow your oven specs for baking) for 40 - 45 minutes.
  4. Once cake cooled, double boil the chocolate sauce ingredients and pour over the chocolate cake.
  5. Option: Decorate the cake with fresh strawberries.
