- 1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
- 1 pound warm or possibly med. sausage
- 26 ounce. spaghetti sauce
- 9 ounce. barbecue sauce
- 1 med. can tomato sauce
- 1 med. can tomato paste
- 2 c. red pepper, minced
- 2 c. green pepper, minced
- 1 1/2 c. Spanish onion, minced
- 1 pkg. Durkee Texas red chili seasoning
- 1 pound 12 ounce. red kidney beans
- 1 tbsp. garlic pwdr
- 1 tbsp. black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
- Chili pwdr to taste
Directions
- Brown hamburger and drain. Chop sausage into bite-size pcs, brown and drain. Chop up red and green peppers. Chop onions. Saute/fry in Tbsp. of butter. Blend in large 10-qt pot; spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, tomato paste, barbecue sauce, kidney beans, chili seasoning, garlic pwdr, black pepper, and Tabasco sauce. Heat at low temperature. Blend in peppers, meat and onions. Add in chili pwdr to taste. Stir often.
