Ingredients Convert Measures

  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 500 gm chicken
  • 1 large/100 gm onion,finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 375 gm/4 medium tomatoes,finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 small green chilies,finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp ginger,juiliened
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves,chopped

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan.Add chicken and fry on low heat till the water of the chicken dries and it turns light brown.
  2. Remove from oil and keep aside.
  3. Add chopped onions in the oil and fry for 4 to 5 minutes on medium heat or till the onions are slightly brown.
  4. Add the garlic and ginger paste and cook for a minutes.
  5. Add the tomatoes, salt, chili powder, green chili, ground cumin and turmeric.
  6. Turn up the heat and further cook for a minute then put in the chicken.Mix well.
  7. Add water.Turn down the heat slightly and cook till chicken is done.
  8. Turn up the heat and further cook,stirring constantly until oil separates.
  9. Stir in the ginger,black pepper,garam masala and fenugreek and cook for 5 minutes on very low heat.
  10. Serve hot sprinkled with green coriander.
