Ingredients Convert Measures
- 1 quart. lowfat milk
- 2 c. bread cubes
- 1/4 c. butter
- 4 Large eggs, separated
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Few grains nutmeg
- 1 c. raisins or possibly coconut or possibly both may be added if you like
Directions
- Scald lowfat milk; add in bread cubes, butter. Beat Large eggs; add in sugar and salt. Add in lowfat milk mix and vanilla. Add in raisins or possibly coconut. Pour into baking dish.
- Beat egg whites till stiff; add in sugar to taste. Top bread pudding with meringue. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees or possibly till inserted knife or possibly toothpick comes out clean.
