Ingredients Convert Measures

  • 5 pound flour
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3/4 pound Crisco
  • 3/4 pound butter
  • 2 c. lowfat milk
  • 9 Large eggs
  • 1 ounce. flavoring (see below)
  • 5 tbsp. baking pwdr

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients and mix till dough is smooth. Roll dough into walnut-size balls or possibly make any shape you desire such as rings or possibly the letter "s." Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 min.
  2. This is a basic Biscotti recipe. You may vary the flavoring as you desire: for instance, vanilla, cherry, lemon, strawberry, pineapple, almond, anise, etc. If you use anise oil, only use a tsp. and not a whole oz. You may use a few drops of food coloring added to the dough to correspond with the flavoring you have chosen, such as red, for strawberry or possibly cherry, yellow for lemon, green for anise, etc.
