Beyond Macaroni And Cheese Recipe
- 2 pkt frzn macaroni and cheese - (12 ounce ea)
- 1 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
- 4 x green onions minced
- 1 sm red bell pepper minced
Directions
- Bake macaroni and cheese according to package directions.
- Heat butter in a small skillet. Add in minced green onions and bell pepper, and saute/fry till tender. Carefully remove cover from macaroni and cheese; stir in onion mix.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 5 - 10 min or possibly till thoroughly heated.
- This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings.
- Comments: For Bacon Macaroni and Cheese, omit bell pepper; stir in 6 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled, with sauteed green onions. Prepare as directed.
- For Italian Macaroni and Cheese, omit butter, green onions, and bell pepper; add in 1 (7-oz) jar roasted red bell peppers, liquid removed and minced, and 3/4 tsp. minced fresh or possibly 1/4 tsp. dry basil to macaroni and cheese. Prepare as directed.
- For Macaroni and Cheese Ole, omit butter, green onions, and bell pepper; add in 1 (10-oz) can tomatoes with green chiles, liquid removed, and 1 (2.25-oz) can sliced ripe olives, liquid removed, to macaroni and cheese. Sprinkle with minced cilantro, if you like. Prepare as directed.
