Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 ounce Gruyere cheese
  • 2 1/2 ounce Emmenthaler cheese
  • 1 x Egg
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
  • 1 x Clove garlic
  • 1/3 c. Plain flour
  • 1 tsp Baking pwdr Salt, pepper
  • 12 slc square white bread Oil for deep frying

Directions

  1. Step l. Grate cheeses, put into small bowl of electric mixer. Add in egg, lowfat milk, crushed garlic, sifted flour and baking pwdr, salt and pepper. Beat on medium speed 5 min. Step 2. Remove crusts from bread. Spread about 2 Tbsp. of mix on to each slice of bread, right to outer edges. Cut each slice into four squares. (If bread is fresh remove crusts after you have spread the cheese mix; the crusts hold the bread hard). Step 3. put in warm oil, cheese - side down; fry till golden on both sides about 2 min, turning once. Drain on absorbent paper.
