Basic Cooked White Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. white onions, minced
  • 1 c. white rice
  • 1 1/2 c. water, warm
  • 2 x bouillon cubes, chicken
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 x bay leaf

Directions

  1. Recipe can be doubled with no problems.
  2. Heat butter in a pot which has a tight fitting lid and add in the onions for about 5 min till tender but not browned. Stir in the rice and stir to coat the rice with butter. Once coated, add in the warm water, bouillon cubes, pepper and the bay leaf and bring to a boil.
  3. Once you reach a boil, cover the rice and reduce the heat to its lowest setting. Cook for 25 min covered. Don't stir, don't look, don't worry.
  4. Remove from heat after 25 min and set aside covered for 20 min. Don't look, don't stir, don't worry.
