Ingredients Convert Measures
- 1 basket ripe strawberries, rinsed, hulled and sliced in half
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons Villa Manodori balsamic vinegar or quality balsamic vinegar
- Pinch of salt and finely ground black pepper
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- 4 mint sprigs
Directions
- In a medium bowl, lightly toss the berries with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Allow berries to macerate until sugar dissolves and the berries release some juice, approximately 10 minutes.
- Drizzle balsamic over berries, and add salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
- Place cream and mascarpone in a bowl and whip to light peaks, add remaining sugar and beat until mixture holds stiff peaks.
- Divide berries into individual bowls, top with mascarpone cream and mint. Serve immediately.
