Ingredients

  • 9 x inch Classic CRISCO Double Crust
  • 6 c. sliced, peeled Cortland or possibly other baking apples (about 2 pounds or possibly 6 medium)
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. vanilla yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or possibly
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter Flavor Crisco stick

Directions

  1. For crust, prepare (see Classic Crisco Pie Crust recipe) and press bottom crust into 9-inch pie plate. Don't bake. Heat oven to 375F. For filling, place apples in large bowl. Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples. Toss well to coat. Add in yogurt; stir gently till apple slices are coated. Spoon filling into unbaked pie crust. Dot with Butter Flavor Crisco. Moisten pastry edge with water.
  2. Cover pie with top crust. Cut slits in top crust to allow steam to escape. Bake at 375F for 1 hour. Cover edge with foil, if necessary, to prevent overbrowning. Cold before serving.
