Ingredients

  • 1 lb Dry Great Northern beans
  • 1 x Ham bone
  • 1/2 c. Minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp Seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp Celery salt
  • 1 dsh Garlic salt Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Soak beans in cool water overnight. Drain. Put in soup kettle and add in cool water to cover, about 10-12 c.. Add in ham bone and cook slowly for 2 hrs.
  2. Remove ham bone and trim meat from bone. Add in onion, seasoned salt, celery salt and garlic salt to kettle. Return bone and ham bits to soup kettle.
  3. Simmer for 1 hour. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Makes 3 qts,serves 8-10.
