Ingredients Convert Measures
- 2 c. Flour
- 1/3 c. Powdered lowfat milk
- 2 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3 Tbsp. Lard, divided
- 3/4 c. Hot water
- Oil
Directions
- Mix dry ingredients. Cut in 2 Tablespoons lard till crumbly. Add in water & mix till a soft dough forms. Knead till dough is smooth & springy in texture. Make into 12 balls. Heat 1 Tbls. lard & brush on each ball of dough. Set aside for 30-45 min. On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball to a 4" circle, then stretch to 7-8" in diameter. Poke hole in center. Fry in oil at 365 degrees till lightly browned, turning once. Serve with butter, honey or possibly jam, or possibly use as the bottom layer of an Indian taco.
